After an impulsive travel decision to visit friends, 25-year-old Freddie (Park Ji-min, in a remarkable first-time acting performance) makes her first ever return to South Korea, where she was born before being adopted and raised in France. The headstrong Freddie suddenly finds herself embarking on an unexpected journey in search of her biological parents, delving into a country she knows little about, taking her life in new and unexpected directions.

"'Return to Seoul' unfolds as one of the rare movies that feels thoughtful and observant every minute, without tidy summations of feeling." —Chicago Tribune
