They Fight with Cameras (2025) is a powerful new documentary directed and produced by Daniel Allentuck and Nina Rosenblum, and narrated by Liev Schreiber. The film recounts the extraordinary World War II experiences of Nina Rosenblum’s father, Walter Rosenblum, who served as a U.S.

Army Signal Corps combat cameraman.

Through his lens, audiences witness some of the most defining and harrowing moments of the war. Blending his wartime photographs, previously unseen motion picture footage, and recently discovered personal letters to his first wife, the documentary traces his journey from the D-Day landings on Omaha Beach through the liberation of Dachau.

These deeply personal materials reveal not only the brutality of war, but also the humanity, resilience, and moral courage of a young soldier determined to bear witness. Nina Rosenblum will appear in person at the Tropic to speak about her father’s photographs and films, as well as the process of preserving, assembling, and shaping this extraordinary historical record into a moving tribute.
