Tropic Cinema is pleased to be one of 24 screening partner venues selected for the 21/22 Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers. Our series continues with “And So I Stayed,” a new documentary about survivors of abuse fighting for their lives and spending years behind bars. This is the harrowing but important story of how the legal system gets domestic violence wrong.

The film, along with a 30-minute recorded Q&A with the filmmaker, is available as a free, virtual-only screening from October 24-27 or in person at the Tropic on October 24 and 26. Click the links above for in-person tickets or virtual screening registration; virtual viewers can enjoy the film and discussion anytime during the four-day viewing window.

This series is brought to you by Linda Mewshaw as well as other public and private sources, including the National Endowment for the Arts.
