Those aren’t pillows! Kick off your Thanksgiving weekend with John Hughes’s classic cross-country tale of holiday travel gone very, very wrong.

Neal Page (Steve Martin) is an uptight advertising executive trying to get home to Chicago for Thanksgiving. When his flight is rerouted to Wichita, he reluctantly partners with Del Griffith (John Candy), an obnoxious yet loveable shower curtain ring salesman. Stuck together in a sleazebag motel for the night, the pair drive each other crazy — but they also realize they’re each other’s only hope to get home.

“Man versus technology has been one of the staples of screen comedy since the earliest silent days, and Hughes makes the most of the format here packing as many of the frustrations of modern life as he can into this calamitous travelog of roadside America.” (Variety)
