A group of Tibetan Monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery have joined us in Key West for a stop on the Sacred Art Tour — we invite you to meet them at the Tropic for a Tibetan Reception before the showing of an inspiring movie of the Tibetan people, their rituals, and their culture.

About the Movie
Immersed in the colorful and vibrant setting of Dharamsala (India), four individuals from very different backgrounds come together to face their deepest fears as they approach the transformational power of the Kalachakra initiation, led by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Kalachakra is the most sacred teaching in Tibetan Buddhism. There are seven days of preparation rituals during which the monks make the sand mandala and release the positive energy into the everyday world. Kalachakra means “wheel of time.” During this ritual–rarely seen on film–one enters an ancient and unknown dimension, where death meets life, and changes you forever.

About the Sacred Art Tour
The Drepung Gomang Monks’ Sacred Art Tour will be hosted at St Paul’s Church, 401 Duval Street, from January 19-25, 2020. The monks are creating a sacred sand mandala of World Healing as part of the tour’s effort to share and preserve Tibetan culture. The Tour overflows with spirituality and artistic expression. Tibetans demonstrate their sacred traditions through living art, ritual, dance and prayer; the monks bring teachings of ancient ways and beliefs that, even now, create the possibility of global healing and peace, non-violent conflict resolution, compassion and wisdom.

Seating is limited, so get your tickets early! All proceeds beyond the screening cost go to the Drepung Gomang Monastery in India.
